Konsole's prompt is not showing up on my computer anymore... I think this might be due to a hard reboot I had to do... any ideas on how to fix this? _________________ Registered Linux User: 437619

While it is likely just some damage to the configuration files, be sure to check the file system, the easiest solution is likely emerge -avk1 sys-apps/baselayout app-shells/bash, adding other shells to the list of packages as necessary, then follow the normal procedure for updating the environment variables in any active sessions. |

I was thinking that this was an issue with konsole... I've got the transparency flag enabled with the xeffects overlay installed.
I was considering doing an: emerge -uD konsole
Do you think this would help? Or would I be missing something? _________________ Registered Linux User: 437619

I misinterpreted the problem, I was operating under the impression that that only the prompt itself was no longer presented, not that the entire window was fully transparent.
Instead of reinstalling packages, check the present configuration of konsole start by deactivating transparency. It could also be related to color schemes so check on those as well. |
