linksys usb wusb11 atmel uhci

I have a usb keyboard and mouse that run off of the uhci module. I tried to install the wusb11 with atmel drivers, but when I type 'modprobe usbventr' after installing, my keyboard and mouse freeze, so I think it's something to do with the usb drivers. (if I plug in a ps2 keyboard, I can type). I have tried usb-uhci, uhci, ehci-hcd, and usb-ohci host modules and they either didn't work or got the same response. Is there anyone with this configuration or similar who has overcome this problem?
