xfce inside kde4?

I just finished building kde 4.0.2, and booted into it, and it loads all fine and stuff, but in addition to the plasma panel, it put in my xfce panels too. I really think that this takes the cake as "weirdest linux behavior i've ever seen." I'm completely at a loss for where to even begin looking for why this is happening. Anyone have any ideas?

Kill the [Xfce] panels and save your session on logout?
