Is there anyway to do an emerge, and have it install Apache the default way, with an httpd.conf and having htdocs and cgi-bin in the ServerRoot?

u have to edit the ebuild and adjust the paths - it should work then. u have to take care that the next upgrade will not overwrite your setup.

Alright, but what about having a single httpd.conf file, instead of the two config files that the ebuild sets up?

Check the files on:
Code:
ls -la /etc/apache2/conf/

I know where the conf files are. I was asking if there was a way of doing it the standard way, instead of Gentoo's messed up version.
