|
|
I have an internal ATAPI 100Mb Iomega zip drive on my system, and during boot up I noticed that the kernel detects the zip drive as hdb, well that's fine, but when I try:
Code: | mount /dev/hdb /mnt/zip100.0 -t vfat |
I get the error that there's no hdb device even though my zip disk is already in the drive. Well fine, I then tried rebooting the system with my zip disk in the drive during rebooting, and when I issued the above command again I get the error:
Code: | mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdb,
or too many mounted file systems |
It couldn't be a filesystem problem since I don't get any errors when mounting my windows partition or even my floppy disk as vfat type.
The entry for my zip drive in /etc/fstab is:
Code: | /dev/hdb /mnt/zip100.0 vfat noauto 0 0 |
Anyone has a solution for this? |

The data on PC ZIP disks are on partition 4 so, you need to mount /dev/hdb4. Mac formatted disks use another partion but I can't remember which it is off the top of my head.[/quote] |

What is fdisk -l /dev/hdb telling you? _________________ Wilbert van Bakel
