|
|
Hi all,
I have a question for you about config of my server. My server has 2 nic, one attached at LAN A ( 192.168.0.*) and one attached at LAN B (192.168.1.*). My lan is formed by a router Linksys WG54G configurated as DHCP Server and DNS server for LAN A. To this router there is attached the LAN A ( 192.168.0.*) and the Server Gentoo (192.168.0.1). the LAN B is attached to the server.
I configurated the Server Gentoo as DHCP and DNS for only LAN B. Is this correct or exist an alternative performed configuration?
How can I configure the server so that LAN A sees LAN B and vice versa??
Thank you

To be able "to see" the other network you just have to set routing on the server. Then you have to set the correct routing tables on the clients.
They need to know that the other network can be reached via the server. That should be all you need.
I have here a WLAN network 192.168.1.0/24 and a LAN 192.168.0.0/24 both connected to my home server which is also the routing and internet gateway.
For my setup I don't have to change anything because the server is default gateway in both networks. But your clients on 192.168.0.0/24 will have the linksys as default gateway. So there you have to set the 192.168.1.0/24 with server as gateway. The clients on 192.168.1.0/24 should already have the server as default gateway and so don't need any change. _________________ ...it's only Rock'n'Roll, but I like it! |

Ok Thank you I did this: added a route table in the Linksys router (default gw for 192.168.1.0/24 is the gentoo server). But with this rule i have some problem with specific service on the server, side LAN A. In fact computers in LAN A see these services for a short time. I suppose that problem is for the new rule, if i remove it, the computers will have not problem.
Do I have to setup a particular iptables rules?
Bye
