Hi there I'm very new to the gentoo distro. I have installed and played around with ubuntu, and I decided I would try out gentoo. Now I'm installing gentoo using the GUI. I have gateway desktop with 1gb ram, 120gb hard drive and I'm running xp on it. What am I wondering is what my partition table should look like if I wanted to keep my xp on a partition. I've looked ever where and no one does it on the GUI version of gentoo. So any help from somebody regrading this would be helpful. Thanks in advance. |

The GTK+ installer is incredibly buggy, and it is highly recommended that you use the minimal installation disc to install using the CLI. The Gentoo Handbook outlines the entire process, and if you have any questions as you follow along, you can always post them here for help. _________________ “Truth, like infinity, is to be forever approached but never reached.” --Jean Ayres (1972)

In a way it's kinda neat that the "gui" installer balowes, because it's not Gentoo. Just ask any stage1er. |
