Hi,
I am running mythtv and recently decided to complete an upgrade to the latest and greatest (for a good reason).
Before the upgrade my Nova-T PCI based cards were running problem free using /dev/dvb device files. After the upgrade they are no longer there.
Looking at output via dmesg, I can see that it is picking up the board and now installing v4l2 devices like /dev/v4l/videoX devices but I am not getting any dsp devices showing up (which mythtv appears to be expecting). I am also not getting any success in getting the new devices to work with myth.
How can I revert back to a system using /dev/dvb as before? Is it a question of removing something from the kernel to get rid of v4l stuff or is it a question of changing something with udev? The upgrade did entail some changes with udev, so I presume there has been something that changed.
Sorry about not giving lots of details, but I am also battling with rt2500 issues, not disimilar from the above.
If anyone has been here, appreciate any help I can get!

Solution:
This was an easy one. After the upgrade it stopped loading the cx88_dvb module. After adding it to /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 all is well again! |
