Segmentation fault [solved]

hi.

dont know where to start, have a laptop , stable as a rock , never hav a problem with it ..

but now , nothing seems to work ..

i manage to ssh into it , since its located at a friend of mine whos got a better internet connection than me .. but i cant run anything , everything fails with segmentation fault :

gothmog@lapdancer ~ $ ssh **.servebeer.com

-bash: /home/gothmog/.bash_profile: Input/output error
gothmog@mekkebox ~ $ su
-bash: su: command not found
gothmog@mekkebox ~ $ ls /home/
Segmentation fault


have no idea why ive suddenly got this error . the last thing i did on it was to start net.eth0 , so that i could access it fraom the outside ..

cat access any logs or nothing .. anyone knows if its HW error , or might ive been hacked ?

any reply would be great .. sorry for lame english , and way to little info , but i cant get anymore out of it

Are you able to run emerge --info?

Or rkhunter --update && rkhunter -c --quiet

?

no , cant run shit ..

could just reboot , but i want to try what i can first

my output for rkhuter and emerge :

gothmog@mekkebox ~ $ rkhunter -c
-bash: rkhunter: command not found
gothmog@mekkebox ~ $ emerge --info
-bash: emerge: command not found



ironic , the reason i logged into it was to run rkhunter

so this is most likely some kind of a hw error, most probably my disk dying ? it happens all the time (my first though) ?

im going over to my friends house now , hoping to get some answers then ..

will post when i know some more ..
