|
|
I am new to this networking so please excuse3 me if I give a load of crappy questions.
1) Does this router allow me to network my PC so that one can see the other and vice versa?
2) If so will Windows XP be able to see my Linux box? (This is important)
3) That's it I think.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Postcount ++ |

It provides a switch, yes.

The linksys does nothing to prevent a WinXP box from seeing a linux box. So, if you configure samba correctly, then yes, they can see each other. The linksys, however, will not configure samba for you.
I have this exact same linksys -- other than it not being able to keep up with my internet connection (10mbps), it's fine. Quick and easy to set up and it offers decent security. (not great, but not horrible.)
