i boot up fine and there are not problems, but near the end of the boot sequence i get a bunch of modprobe: can't load /dev/ttyS# (#=some number) and also can't load /dev/usb/ttyUSB#
what happened? _________________ I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it. |

the /dev/usb/ttyUSB# are from the usbserial driver. its commonly used with USB connected palm/clie/pda type devices. check your /etc/modules.autoload for that driver being listed. (it might also list visor, which has a dependency of usbserial).
if you dont have such a device, remove it without worry. if you do have such a pda device, keep it in and use away! |
