|
|
Hi all,
I unmasked and emerged www-client/mozilla-firefox-bin-3.0_beta4, but it cannot use net-www/netscape-flash. I tried the built-in mechanism to install Flash player, but it fails complaining about a missing install-lp4..rdf, after accepting the EULA. Is there any way to install Flash for Firefox 3? _________________ "The hunt is sweeter then the kill."

It didn't work for me either. I made a symlink from /opt/netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so to /opt/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so. _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

Somehow I got it to work...I think.
I was using the binary file from Mozilla's website instead of emerging www-client/mozilla-firefox-bin (hard masked). After removing the manually-extracted installation and emerging the binary beta from Portage, flash started working as it did with v2.

Code: | ln -s /opt/sun-jdk-1.6.0.05/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /opt/firefox/plugins/libjavaplugin_oji.so |

Thanks! And in order to avoid path problems (and keep things working even if java gets upgraded) you can link to /usr/share/java-config-2/nsplugin/sun-jdk-1.6-javaplugin.so. _________________ "The hunt is sweeter then the kill."
