Has anyone noticed the same problem. Since dhcpcd 3.2.3 every time dhcpcd starts on boot I get this error:
err, eth0: Failed to lookup hostname via DNS: Name or service not known
I still get an IP address assigned by dhcpcd and everything seems to work normally. |

What is the output of `hostname` and does DNS resolving work? |
the output of hostname is localhost. I suppose DNS resolving works or else I wouldn't be browsing this page. |

In /etc/hosts, do you give yourself a hostname?
Try "127.0.0.1 myboxname".
Its probably a good idea to give yourself a hostname as well.
"hostname myboxname" to set hostname. _________________ No more things should be presumed to exist than are absolutely necessary. Or really cool. |

Also check whether you have dhcpd-options in /etc/conf.d/net .. . I had "-l -0" which was not valid anymore and prevented to get an IP-addres at all :-/
