I have two NICS in my box, one connected directly to the internet via cable modem and the other card to the internal LAN. Internet connection sharing is configured and working fine.
But every time i have to reboot the box for some reason it tells me that the ip - adress of the internal LAN nic is already taken, while i am absolutely sure i dont have other computers using that ip - adress (192.168.0.1). After the box have booted, i can just type: ipconfig eth0 192.168.0.1 and everything is working as it should again.
To temporarily fix this problem i added that line in /etc/conf.d/local.start , but i think it is a dirty workaround.
Anyone have any ideas on why i get this message ? |

The Gentoo init script use arping to determine if the address is already taken. If this is true your address IS taken. Please shutdown your server and try to reach the ip. _________________ -- http://www.linuxaddicted.de/ | Please help to answer open questions |
