I've been following the gentoo-wiki guide to get framebuffer/gensplash working. My screen resolution is 1680x1050 (i can deal with 1440x900 for fb)
I've noticed that I don't have a /dev/fb0 and somewhere I was supposed to 'rc-update add splash boot', and splash doesn't exist
What am I missing? I can post whatever you need to troubleshoot, off the top of my head, all I can think of is my grub.conf: Code: | title Gentoo AMD64 2.6.24-r3 (bootsplash fix)
root (hd0,4)
kernel /gentoo/kernel0/kernel0 root=/dev/sda7 splash=verbose,theme:livecd-2007.0 fbcon=scrollback:128K quiet CONSOLE=/dev/tty1 vga=869 video=vesafb:mtrr:3,ywrap
initrd /gentoo/livecd-2007.0-1440x900
savedefault
| currently set at 1440x900.
