haier h53 laptop only boot with acpi=off

I have a haier H53 laptop with AMI bios and an Intel Core Duo processor
it only boot passing the acpi=off option to kernel gentoo-sources-2.6.24-r3

I googled for 2 days and found no clues
all the documentation I found of how to fix acpi starts with a kernel with acpi, and I have to disable it!

any idea to try?

Could you post your kernel configuration? Also, did you have the same problems with older kernels?
