Evening all. I'm having a problem with my root account. Not sure why it won't start now but unfortunately it doesn't. When I type startx the system does not load my DM/WM. It ends up just hanging there. Is this a common error with KDE 4.1? Thanks in advance for any help!!!

what does /var/log/Xorg.0.log say? It maybe something as simple as not being allowed to start X as root (which is bad practice anyway).
Does X start ok as a normal user? _________________ # touch it

I ssh'd into my system and this was the response when I tried to startx as root:

Hmmm.. first impression says to me it's a dbus issue.
Code: | xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): Cannot register with ConsoleKit: org.freedesktop.CkConnector.Error: Unable to open session: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory |
Do you have dbus installed and running? _________________ # touch it
