For some reason, ctr-alt-backspace halts my machine (rudely and abruptly - alot like just unplugging the box) instead of killing X. It is a MSFT keyboard, but not one of those "natural" things. Any ideas on how to stop this rude behavior? |

Killing X can have nasty side effects, depending on how well your hardware takes it. What kind of video card do you have? (It might get confused and lock up your box...) _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

Thanks for the reply. It's an Abit Siluro MX400 (geforce2 and 64MB SDRAM). But I wonder if it really could be the card. I'm actually mentally tracing the problem to the mainboard (Abit SD7-533) at this point, since as I recall this keyboard and video card both worked fine with my Asus/Athlon machine a week ago (no ctr-alt-backspace problems). It's odd. I'll poke around with Abit and see if I can find anything. |
