When I use tracker or beagle (desktop searches) and double-click a hit, both always start firefox to display it (text, gz, dir, jpg, pdf, etc.) and I can't figure out how to fix this.

I don't use or have gnome, kde or xfce installed but do have a few gnome and xfce pieces picked up through emerging this and that along the way. I have evolution, galeon browser (and firefox which I rarely use), xv graphics viewer, mplayer, acroreader, etc., and these are what I want to get launched instead of firefox (I have gnome-open, exo-open and xdg-open).

So can somebody tell me how in gentoo using whatever mime stuff is here or there, how to stop these things from always starting firefox to display everything? I do have a ~/.mailcap (no ~/.mime*) but all it has is realplayer relationships; I emerge'd mime-types but nothing in it looked like assigning certain types to specific apps - where does that occur?
