|
|
I need a client to connect to Fasttrack and another to connect to Overnet. I don't mind if it's only one client that connects to all of them, but:
- not mldonkey, as it is still too buggy (many features are broken/undeveloped).
- not lmule, as it is broken (for now).
- not xmule as it's buggy.
- not overnet, as it hasn't enough capabilities.
And after all those restrictions.... I'm still trying to find a good client. It's a pitty for mldonkey, I like it, but it has too many bugs. |

I don't know about overnet, but I'm pretty sure the newest version of giFT can once again connect to the fast track network. It's been a while since I used it, but I remember it being pretty solid code. _________________ Morgant

dunno about overnet (afaik the only one is mldonkey)
but for fasttrak install the following packages:
net-p2p/gift-cvs
net-p2p/gift-fasttrack-cvs
and one of the following frontends:
net-p2p/giftoxic
net-p2p/giftui
net-p2p/giftcurs (i use this) |

giftoxic is a bit outdated - giftcurs is excellent and the next generation ui is apollon (kde) _________________ To an engineer the glass is neither half full, nor half empty - it is just twice as big as it needs to be. |

Nice all your responses, that'll do. Now let's wait for a solution on Overnet... |

It works OK with the networks, but it has bugs, great bugs. I want to use other programs until they decide to repair it. The common bugs are:
- Erroneous file saving. This means that I don't know how to tell it to save my files, I've tried changing times, disconnecting, killing core, telneting the core and telling it to save... it just saves if it wants, not when I want.
- AC power loss -> data loss. If the current is lost, all what was downloaded, gets lost. Do you imagine having 1GB downloaded and, after a power loss, losing everything? This does not happen in other overnet clients.
- Unimplemented funcionts, such as COMMIT or RECOVER_TEMP.
If you have a solution to this problems, better start telling... I'm getting mad having to use clients different to mldonkey!!!
