I'm trying to setup my printer (HP Deskjet 950C) using cups, its connected to the the first parallel port but I have no oprion to chose :
# lpinfo -v
network socket
network http
network ipp
network lpd
direct scsi
serial serial:/dev/ttyS0?baud=115200
serial serial:/dev/ttyS1?baud=115200
as u see there is no parallel port
lsmod shows me the following:
lp 6080 0 (autoclean) (unused)
parport 13216 0 (autoclean) [lp]
am I missing something?

Your parallel port should be /dev/lp0; check your kernel configuration. You need "PC-style hardware" enabled under "Parallel port support", as well as "Parallel printer support" under Character Devices. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |
