has anyone run into an error message like this (when I am trying to print in seamonkey's mail app, but not its web app):

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: chrome://global/content/printProgress.xul
Line Number 1, Column 1:

I don't want to lose everything in my user directory, so I am reluctant to wipe out my .mozilla directory and install anew. Is this something obvious? hints appreciated.

Well something isn't quite right with the upgrade to seamonkey 1.1.9. I don't use the mail app but a simple
Edit -> Find in This Page ...
yields
Code:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: chrome://global/content/finddialog.xul
Line Number 1, Column 2:

in a dialog box with some unicode output of where the parsing failed? If the box is closed "Find in This Page" does nothing. Seamonkey and seamonkey-bin both have the same behavior. My machine is

    Linux ledaig 2.6.24-gentoo-r3 #1 SMP Wed Mar 26 13:06:58 CDT 2008 x86_64 Dual-Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 2216 AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

I too would not wish to wipe out the .mozilla directory unless I could be assured that that would fix things.

I don't like to post replies to my own posts but now seamonkey 1.1.9 is working fine - no parse error. I have no idea what happened! I deleted nothing. I thought I had thoroughly tested things before the first post. I only hope iaw will be as fortunate.

I see that sort of thing when I upgrade Seamonkey while it's still running.
