I could use alsaconf to find and configure sound card, and use mplayer to play a sound. But after rebooting, it cannot. I have to use alsaconf store and add alsaconf resotre in .xinitrc.
Is there any other method to make alsa auto restore?

i cant remember exactly but it is something like
emerge -av media-sound/alsa-utils
rc-update add alsasound default |

Actually, you add alsasound to the boot runlevel, not default. (it tells you that when you emerge alsa-utils ) |
