I have SSHD set up, and it *was* working correctly. After updating gentoo to 1.4 it doesn't seem to work right with permissions and what not. When I try to use my SSH client to connect to the box, it keeps telling me that the password is incorrect, autorization failed. The problem is... is that the password IS correct but SSHD is not recognizing that to be so... any suggestions?

AFAIR, when you upgrade ssh it tells you at end what to do, now if this message has been buried deep into thousands during an emerge -u world...

Been there, don't recall what that have I done !!
But it was along the line of:

ugrpade your /etc/ssh/ssh_config and /etc/ssh/sshd_config by copying the ._cfg000_sshd_config and then put in my settings

HTH

Make sure that you have a valid shell listed in /etc/passwd, I think it's the last entry on every line. That was the solution when I had a simular problem.

Good Luck
