My hdb is 120 gigs, I'm making a media computer and want it just for video and games(hda is for linux). Is 120 gigs too big of a partition for this dirve? Should I break it up? or just leave it as 120 ext3 gig drive?
Thanx,
Stan |

I have a 160 gig mounted to "/home" (100$ with rebates ) formatted with ext3. Its kinda weird cause I can only read the partition table and mount it when it is plugged into the ATA/133 card I formatted it with, but it works fine as it is. I just want several more so I can raid them.. but you can naver have too big of a partition.
One thing to keep in mind is your block size though. there is a speed/efficiency tradeoff with block sizes and on big drives it matters. Also, journal takes up lots of space. (but with e2fsck you can pick an choose those options however you want)
do a "man e2fsck" and understand what you are doing an if you want speed or efficiency _________________ http://ckdake.com/ |
