Hi all,
So when I setup my local IMAP server I installed horde, horde-imp and horde-mimp for my client needs. Later, I discovered horde-webmail and decided to go with this, as it includes kronolith and turba which I also wanted to add, and would be easier to maintain as a single package.
I didn't get around to mimp until just now, and now I see that it's blocked because horde is blocked by horde-webmail. Perfectly reasonable I guess, but it leaves me with a problem.
I need mimp, not all the time but sometimes I do need it. So I can either:
a) Go back to separate packages for all horde components. I don't like this option much, because I found the sub-apps did not play well with webapp-config, but I guess I will do it if there's no alternative
b) Find a hackish method to allow horde-mimp to be installed alongside horde-webmail. I don't know if it is feasible/more trouble than it's worth to override a block like this, but I would probably prefer to go this way if anyone can advise me how.
c) File a bug and ask the maintainers to resolve the blocking issue. It seems reasonable -- surely mimp could depend on a choice of horde, horde-webmail or horde-groupware, no? -- but there may be complications I'm not seeing. Also, such a resolution could be a long way off, even if it's agreed upon.
So, there we are. I can't daunder too long on this decision, but I would appreciate some insight from any learned types before I make it. Any advice/opinions?
Thanks in advance |
