I just tried to get vmware 4 to work with the 2.6 test kernel. The first odd thing that happened was this:
Code: |
grep: /proc/ksyms: No such file or directory
grep: /proc/ksyms: No such file or directory
grep: /proc/ksyms: No such file or directory
Trying to find a suitable vmmon module for your running kernel.

The vmmon module compiled with no problems. I don't even thing there were any warnings... Then it hit the vmnet module:
Code: |
Building the vmnet module.
make: Entering directory `/tmp/vmware-config2/vmnet-only'
bridge.c: In function `VNetBridgeReceiveFromVNet':
bridge.c:368: structure has no member named `wmem_alloc'
bridge.c: In function `VNetBridgeUp':
bridge.c:618: structure has no member named `protinfo'
bridge.c: In function `VNetBridgeReceiveFromDev':
bridge.c:817: structure has no member named `protinfo'
make: *** [bridge.o] Error 1
make: Leaving directory `/tmp/vmware-config2/vmnet-only'
Unable to build the vmnet module.

I guess I'll either be waiting for Vmware to update their stuff to work with 2.6 or for someone desperate for Vmware on kernel 2.6 to do some serious patching! _________________ We don't need no stinkin' signatures. |
