I have a dell inspiron with 2gb ram rand core 2 duo unning gentoo and whenever I start my windows xp or debian guest my cpu usage goes to 200% and stays that way until i stop the guests. This makes my laptop very hot and kills the battery. I give each guest 512 ram and I do not run them at the same time so the operating system still has 1.5gb of ram to work with ( not that ram should affect cpu usage but I saw some posts about it on other forums )
I am using vmware server and have upgraded/downgraded/recompiled and I get the same behaviour. Vmware Server does not do this on my desktop so I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and how they fixed it. |

Moved from Portage & Programming to Kernel & Hardware.
This is clearly not a problem for P&P. As it might be related to the kernel or hardware, I'm moving it to K&H. _________________ Jorge.
