I'm trying to use transKode and Amarok to transcode/transfer music from my computer to my iPod. I need to transcode from ogg vorbis & flac to mp3. I have everything installed, but when I try to transfer files, it just hangs on non-mp3 files. I really have no idea where the problem is, or where to find the logs. I know transcoding works on this computer because I have SubSonic working and transcoding the said files for audio streaming.

I tried installing transKode 0.7 (not in portage) and had to do some fiddling, but now it seems to be working. I don't entirely trust this current setup, it mostly because I don't entirely understand how I got it working. I'm hesitant to call this solved because I can't really provide a solution since I'm not sure how I solved it.
I think part of my problem may be that I'm running KDE 4.0 on this computer...not sure transKode knows how to deal with that... |
