Hi to everybody,
I have a question about ucarp.
Configuration: 2 box
CASES:
Normal: box1 => apache, box2 => mysql
Box 1 broken: box 2 => apache + mysql
Box 2 broken: box 1 => apache + mysql
Is it possible to do that using 2 VIPs and running TWO times ucarp on each box? One VIP is for APACHE and the other ONE is for MySQL.
What I'd like to know is if it is possible to run ucarp twice on each box, or if there is perhaps a better solution (running ucarp only once, or another program...)
Many thanks,
Mauro |

It guess it should work, but you need some scripting abilites to do it. |

Technically yes you can run 2 instances of ucarp on 1 machine provided that the "instance id" value is different for each instance.
You can have 1 instance of ucarp running and in the start-up script you can specify it to bring up 2 virtual ips instead of one. |

I use keepalived to manage a dozen or so VIP's. Managing multiple VIP's is no issue.
Cheers,
