Eckos,
Abandon the IDE kerenel support altogeter.
Set your SCSI section for SATA like this
and on the Code: | <*> Serial ATA (prod) and Parallel ATA (experimental) drivers ---> | menu, choose your SATA support in the normal way and Code: | <*> AMD/NVidia PATA support |
udev will make the correct symlink so your CDROM justworks
Any real hard drives will get /dev/sd... names ... see the link for a discussion on that _________________ Regards,
