I really need rss-glx! Looks like there's no upstream anymore?

Here's a really ugly workaround:

Code:
emerge -C imagemagick # maybe not strictly necessary
emerge =media-gfx/imagemagick-6.3.3
emerge rss-glx
emerge imagemagick

This hack has the unfortunate effect of messing up your deps. revdep-rebuild
will break things, so any time you need to do revdep make sure you rinse and
repeat the above steps afterwrds.

I don't know, the bug is marked as "RESOLVED FIXED" so odds are on that it has been fixed. If you read through to the end, you see that a patch has been submitted to CVS and is available from the bug. Thats fairly straightforward to deal with, generally you stick a copy in the files/ sub-directory, ebuild rss-glx-**.ebuild digest to digest the ebuild and then re-emerge.

Indeed, but in this case I think I'll just wait till the resolution hits ~x86 and try to live with the broken deps in the interim.

What I meant with "can of worms" is that the issue seems to be much more complex than I initially assumed. General rss-glx bitrot seems to be a wrong assumption based on my cursory examination of the bug file. :D

Cool, sorry my misunderstanding about "can of worms".
