Not sure were to post this.. or if this is a known issue, but has anybody had issues with emerging virtualbox-modules? I do not want to file a bug report yet because I am unsure if something is wrong with my end or something is wrong with the package. The modules emerge fine, but will not load. I know this is not exactly helpful information, just looking to see if other are having similar problems before I cry wolf. |

download Vbox-bin from vbox home page...
Install, go to src folder and type make, make install. |

thanks for the responses. I am running 2.6.25-r1 and all appears to be working now. Now I just need to read the documentation to figure out why it refuses to start a VM is I tell it to use the host network interface. I am assuming that I need to setup some sort of bridge.
anyhow, thanks for the response to the issue. |

Not sure if you figured it out yet, but you may want to take a look here. To use Host networking you need to not only setup a bridge but also ensure that you are vboxusers group...
Code: | gpasswd -a youruser vboxusers |

if you want slightly newer ebuilds check out jokey's overlay in layman, you can find more recent ebuilds there, just accept they you may hit problems as they may be still in testing (although ive never had any problems myself, YMMV) _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved.
