In particular, variable substitution doesn't work correctly. I tried this script and this script. In both cases, the status gets set in Skype and Pidgin respectively, but the song title and artist name are not visible, only the fixed part of the status string. It only happens in KDE 4. What could I try to solve the issue? _________________ "The hunt is sweeter then the kill."

Have you tried Amarok-2.0 which more suited for KDE4? |

For some reason I was under the impression that it's only possible to use Amarok 2.0 if you have the kdesvn overlay and not the 4.0.x releases. I will try building it based on this guide, since there is no ebuild yet.
EDIT: Well I guess I was right...
Code: | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-- The following REQUIRED packages could NOT be located on your system.
-- Please install them before continuing this software installation.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
+ kdelibs, 4.00.61: The toolkit Amarok uses to build <http://www.kde.org>
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the solution:
Code: |
echo 'export PATH="$PATH:/usr/kde/3.5/bin"' > /usr/kde/4.0/env/path.sh
