nvidia-drivers with acpi flag, any good?

hello, the ndivia-drivers package has an acpi flag, enabling the flag results in merge of acpid.
now from what I've noticed, acpid needs certain kernel configs to be enabled for it to work, the kernel menu states that
these configs are deprecated and will be soon removed or merged with another config.
my question is, what gains can one achieve from enabling that flag and the relevant kernel configs?
