Hello. I'm new to Gentoo. Anyway, I downloaded the minimal CD (2008 beta2) and I was following the steps in the manual, which I was viewing using links. I got up to the part where I chroot into /mnt/gentoo and everything is fine up to this point, but when I did I no longer had links available, so I couldn't continue reading the manual to continue the install, so I'm wondering how I could get around this? I don't really want to have to print out the manual, is there anyways I can access links once I have chrooted into /mnt/gentoo?

Surreal Killa,
You can have 5 virtual terminals. Ctril-Alt-Fn (for n 1..5) switches.
Before you chroot, use the passwd command so you will know the root password.
Choose another VT and log in as root, using the password you just set.
Now you can have your install, lynx (on the manual), lynx (or the forums), irssi (in #gentoo on irc.freenode.net) and a vT outside the chroot so you can do commands you missed without leaving the chroot.
gpm, the console mouse supports copy and paste between the VTs.
Highlight some text, switch VTs and middle click to paste. _________________ Regards,
