Hi,

Im new here, i'm trying to install gentoo on my notebook: dell inspiron 6400, 2 GB ram, intel core duo 2x 1.86 GHZ, intel graphics 945GM 256ram

I got the livecd 2008.0_beta1.iso

On boot i get some errors:

Code:

>> Looking for the cdrom

On other distros my HD is named sda


Please, can anyone help me? :roll:

do you know what mobo you have on your pc?...probably some chips on your mobo arent supported on the livecd you are using...i had this issue when i was installing gentoo on p5k-se.En somebody gave me this link to download other livecd's.Here is the link:

thanks for your answer, but i have a 32 bit system :(

mobo = motherboard? I have the Intel ICH7 (express card)
