Hi,
Does anyone here use Gentoo to design with programmable logic? If so, what kind of programmer (hw and sw) do you use? I am mostly interested in Altera devices and I came across some schematics for download cables that I am willing to try. I am not sure if they would be "linux friendly" though.
I verified that Altera doesnt support linux in their free design tool but they have instructions on how to setup their own programming hardware in Red Hat.
Thank you in advance. |

I just came across this:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Xilinx
Apparently there is a way to use Xilinx under linux. I am going to dig this a little deeper and possibly switch from Altera to Xilinx for the time being in my home experiments. I will post back with new details if I find anything. |
