Hi, I recently upgraded my kernel to 2.6.24-r4 and now my sound doesn't work. When I login to KDE I get this error message:
Code: | Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device: default can't be opened for playback (Function not implemented)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device. |
This time I decided to reconfigure the kernel from scratch instead of doing make oldconfig because I had all kinds of options set that I didn't need. I suspect I've missed something in the kernel config somewhere.
dmesg Code: | PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:0e.1 to 64

Any ideas? |

Procedure of kernel upgrade?
1. Have you reused the old kernel config with: make oldconfig?
2. Then checked the new kernel config with make xconfig or make menuconfig |
