Ive got a 3com wireless pcmcia card and downloaded the linux drivers off the 3com website, and compiled them ok, but when i try to insmod the driver i get:
Code: | Warning: loading RSHPW796.o will taint the kernel: no license
See http://www.tux.org/lkml/#export-tainted for information about tainted modules
RSHPW796.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
|
dmesg has this:
Code: | 3CRSHPW796 Linux driver version 1.03 (Feb 28, 2003)
: I/O region (0x0@0x0) too small, aborting |
/sbin/dump_cis outputs this:
Code: | Socket 0:
dev_info
NULL 200ns, 512b
NULL 0ns, 512b
NULL 0ns, 512b
NULL 0ns, 64kb
common_geometry |
and when i put the card in, cardmgr recognises it as a memory card and loads memory_cs
