|
|
So after doing a sync it suggested I emerge portage so I did but it was complaining about a blocked package so per http://gentoo-wiki.com/FAQ_Blocked_Package post I found I ran
emerge --buildpkgonly --nodeps bash && emerge -C portage && emerge --usepkgonly bash
The update fails and now everytime I run emerge it says...
-bash: /usr/bin/emerge: No such file or diectory
What do I do? _________________ "Those who would trade freedom for security deserve neither" Benjamin Franklin |

Start over. Do not ever remove portage....
Since portage is the package manager, removing it "emerge -C portage", means that you no longer have a package manger....
There are various ways to try to fix it, but your best bet, if you have only recently installed your system, is to simply reinstall. |

If you don't want to start over, you can use the recovery instructions found here. |
