KDE and KVM switches

Has anyone else had their screens go blank with KDE when switching away from their Gentoo machine and back with a KVM switch? Could this be a KDE issue? More specifically, this happens when I switch to another terminal using ctrl-alt-(F-key) and then switch out to another computer with my KVM switch.
