Is there a way I could install 64 bit Flash (even if I have to do it the non-Gentoo, manual way) for use with Firefox, while still maintaining my current install of Firefox-bin with 32 bit Flash?

Given that www-client/mozilla-firefox-bin installs a 32 bit build, even on 64 bit systems, you would need to use www-client/mozilla-firefox, though not necessarily as part of the main system. |

What I ended up doing was grabbing a copy of the Firefox 3.1b source and building it. I just keep a copy of the resulting executable in my /home directory, and I have the 64 bit version of Flash there with it - it does not seem to interfere with the 'legitimate' Gentoo installs of www-client/mozilla-firefox or www-client/mozilla-firefox-bin. It's a bit of a hack, but I don't think it has b0rked my system, and for testing purposes I think it will work just fine. |
