hello,

I'm having a minor issue. I previously had gentoo installed for over year and half with no issues. than out of the blue gtkpod and kde started acting up. I removed kde and gtkpod and reinstalled and still same issues so I reformatted. Everything went well as normal but now when I shutdown using kde menu it shuts down but doesn't power off. it says system hault and I have to manually shut it off. it have never done this before and don't know what is wrong. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Gtkpod and kde and such is working better than previous. though hellanzb isn't working and when it does, everything gets downloaded as root and have to chmod -R a+rwx the download folder.

Hello,

Thank You for your reply. Turns out ACPI wasn't enabled in the kernel. Go figure
I enabled it and it shuts down and powers off without a hiccup. Thank you So Much.

Gotta love linux. One missed item in kernel and all hell breaks loose
