I'm adding xvid support to QuickRip, and I need a decent string of options for the xvid codec. They need to be very generic, so I could just specify none, but I like to try and put in a decent set of options for users.
So.. suggestions please... at the moment I've got this string from this thread:
-xvidencopts 4mv:me_quality=6:mod_quant:quant_range=1-31/1-31 |

Related to this is what sort of quality people would expect. Since QuickRip doesn't let you modify these fine-tuned settings (if you want to, don't use QR!), I have to choose a good balance between ripping speed and output quality. Those options above will give very good quality at the expense of a little ripping speed.
Would people generally prefer this, or maybe should I tone down the quality to make the process a little quicker? |
