|
|
Every first time when I log in using the user "dutao", there would be an error happened.
which is
"couldn't open mixer device /dev/sound/mixer"
If I log out and log in again, every thing is ok.
But I reboot and log in again, the error would happen again in my first
log in.
If I log in using "root", the error would not happen.
I use gdm and gnome,
please help me |

Gnome only displays that message once, but the fact remains the same: user dutao cannot access sound devices.
If root has audio working OK, just add user dutao to the audio group.
As root, perform:
Code: |
gpasswd -a dutao audio

thanks for your reply,
and as you say, gnome just display that error message once,
but when I login next time, the sound functions properly,
I can listen to music and watch movie.
