Hilo dividido a partir de este. --Stolz
Tengo unas dudas básicas, he instalado distinto software: gimp, mplayer, vlc, eye of gnome, openoffice, java y demás... y el gimp, mplayer, vlc y eye of gnome pues con sus distintas dependencias segun el programa(jpeg, mp3, ogg, etc..) usando el archivo package.use... pero el sistema en general cada vez que intengo abrir fotos (ya sean jpeg, png, gif. etc...) o intento cambiar de fondo de escritorio en las opciones de gnome, pues me da fallos de formato, no me reconoce ninguno, en cambio si lo abro con el gimp se ve perfectamente.
Alguno me puede decir que hay que hacer?

Podrías asegurarte agregando a tu make.conf las USE Flags dudosas gif jpeg png y cualquier otra que consideres "vital" para después emerger todos los paquetes cuyas USE Flags se vean afectadas por el cambio global:

| No tengo ni idea del programa que se usa por defecto para ver las fotos en Gnome pero sería interesante que muestres las USE de dicho programa y el error exacto que te da para intentar averiguar qué pasa. |

No sé, parece que se arregló, ya no me da errores de formato  , quizás había que reiniciar para que ciertos cambios surtiesen efecto
