Thanks so much for the effort! Just installed kde-cvs-bin-20030824, works great. KDE-cvs is fast
Big ups to iamlarryboy for the builds and Mark Lopes for the installer script |

Hey everyone I am back (I was away on vacation for awhile). Unfortunatly, I go back to university today. Hopefully I can find time to get some new builds out soon. Right now KDE-CVS is getting many commits because of the feature freaze and the Kastle conference so many packages are not compiling. I'll get whatever I can to compile though. Looks like we have a lot to look forward to |

Yup, and not only that, binary compatability is being broken left and right this week (until alpha1).. everytime I recompile kdelibs, kdebase et al stop working until I recompile _________________ what up |

Speaking of alpha1 what do you guys want me to do when it is released. Would you like me to follow HEAD or do builds of the alphas betas and RC's? Both?
At any rate the next build should be ready an minute now. |

I would be happy with whatever you have time to compile
But if possible I would love to see builds for the RC's
Again thanks for all your hard work
hmm btw is there any chance of having ALSA added to the use flags you compile with ? |

Although I compile by myself, I'd have to say at least the alpha/beta/RC's. _________________ what up |

Hey everyone new builds. Be carefull these ones seem to be very buggy. You know where to find them.
Features:
Nothing special this time other than all the rapid development resulting from the Kastle Konference.
I was going to provide a build of kde-i18n-de but it wouldn't build so so much for that. I'll try again next build. |

If I remember correctly (from last round of RC's), they will appear in Portage, so there shouldn't be a need for binary builds.
I would like to continue to see development releases from iamlarryboy.

This is true. However I think what is preventing many people from trying KDE-CVS is not a firewall but rather the build time required to keep it up to date. Someone for whom it takes 24 hours to build KDE isn't going to want to compile it for alpha1, alpha2, beta1, beta2, beta3, RC1, RC2, RC3, RC4 etc. Hence my builds.
On the same topic Provided I have enough webspace I will probably have both a build of HEAD and a build of alpha1 when the time comes. You may be interested in knowing that I had a chance to do a new build this morning. I should have it out the door later this evening or maybe tommorow. |

Develpment seems to be happening REALLY fast in CVS. It is probably because of the Kastle Konference. At any rate, I thought I would release a new build today.
Todays features:
-The "G" is back although this time it is the purple one
-I added alsa to the USE flags
kde-i18n-de still doesn't build. Sorry
It still seems to be really buggy so if you need a more stable DE for any reason (school) it is probably best to stick to the 20030824 version. Any way you know where to get them. |

This build seems to be pretty stable. SO if you have been holding off for the last couple of builds you may want to give it a try. |

|

Hey did not know where to post this so I thought I would start here.
I am using KDE CVS 082403
i can have a konsole window open with "emerge sync" running....
try to run PAN 0.14 or GAIM 0.68 and I just get a busy cursor for 30 secs and then nothing.
Have emerged gtk+-2.2.2-r1. Any one else with this problem...??? This is a consistent bug and I am using Gentoo 1.4 XP grp... Also no output from GAIM or PAN or KDE. PAN and GAIM will load if I try a second time....
ok hopefully the right ears hear this message |

i haven't had that prob but the first few things i would try are
1) killall -v -9 gaim pan
2) try running them from a console to see if you get any exit msg's
3) reemerge those 2 programs - they may be linking against old libs
4) have a beer -- this always helps |

Any chances to consider kdesdk as well? Right now, I'm using kbabel a lot...
Anyway, great job.

I would make a minor (but important modification)
1) have a beer -- this always helps
2) killall -v -9 gaim pan
3) have a beer -- this always helps

5) have a beer -- this always helps

7) have a beer -- this always helps
who cares about gaim anymore? |

I'll take a look this evening. It mostly depends on if it will build reliably.

Hey everyone alpha1 has been released. I will have a build ready asap. Mostly I need ebuilds. I am going to see if I can modify some existing ones. If not I'll have to wait for some to apear in portage, someone to email me some, or for them to apear on breakmygentoo.net. |
