|
|
Hello
I have worked through the gentoo-wiki for compiz fusion.
Everything went well, no errors.
But: Cf will start, telling me it uses kde-decorations and.. nope, no decorations. I can not move any windows anymore, ALT-tabbing does not work either, nor can I CTRL-Fx onto another desktop NOR do I see any fancy compiz-stuff...
Any input? |

Type emerald --replace from a terminal to get the windows working. If you want to use the compiz stuff, you can hold ALT+CONTROL to spin the cube around. If you type ccsm in a terminal, it'll bring up the configuration tool. _________________

The wiki said that much already, but thanks.
does.. well.. nothing.. the konsole just sits there, no errors, no feedback, no output, no blinking cursor..
Hold on.. you mean, I should run that command, keep it there and THEN run compiz-start?
(Edit: Nope, won't do no good...)
As for the rest: I know how to do things in Compiz, but none of them work
ccsm comes up fine, but what would I change there to help my cause? |

Did you just install compiz-fusion? And if so, did you run the emerge while X was running? Might want to try rebooting the computer if you made all the necessary changes. _________________

I have rebooted my PC a few times by now, no change.
I have an nvidia 7600GT using the nvidia driver (package nvidia-drivers)
works fine so far, except for that.. |

ok... try this in a console: (assuming you use compiz to bring compiz up)
touch tester
echo 'compiz &' >> tester
echo 'sleep 3' >> tester
echo 'emerald --replace &' >> tester
echo 'sleep 30' >> tester
echo 'kwin --replace &' >> tester
chmod +x tester
./tester
give the output pls, don't worry, if compiz should not work, you will be in 30 secs in kde, so just wait. |
