|
|
I added a line in /etc/fstab.
Code: |
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs nodev,nosuid,noexec 0 0
|
When I used "df -h" to see,I always saw the tmpfs have 0% been used.
How to deal with it?
Thank you. _________________ Gentoo(~x86)+fvwm && Debian+gnome

If you haven't put anything in there, it's going to be empty. This is a quote from the sample /etc/fstab file that comes initially with a Gentoo install.
Quote: | # glibc 2.2 and above expects tmpfs to be mounted at /dev/shm for
# POSIX shared memory (shm_open, shm_unlink).
# (tmpfs is a dynamically expandable/shrinkable ramdisk, and will
# use almost no memory if not populated with files) |

I have read a lot of materials about tmpfs.
But I only know how to create it,I don't know how to use it,how to put things in it.
For example,I want to put the firefox process in it,or I want to put the tmp thing when compiling gftp. _________________ Gentoo(~x86)+fvwm && Debian+gnome
